The shared vision of P.S./I.S. 270Q is to prepare student that are college and career ready in a culturally diverse and equitable environment by cultivating their intellectual, artistic, social, emotional and ethical development.

In order to achieve this collaborative effort, The Gordon Parks School offers a challenging and rigorous academic curriculum centered on students. We achieve this in a safe, engaging, rigorous and supportive learning environment that has high expectations of our students from our staff, home and community.

Here at The Gordon Parks School ...

We are dedicated to providing our students with a caring and nurturing environment that infuses character education into the highest quality of academic instruction! It is our goal to provide the best education for every child that enters our doors – beginning in Prekindergarten all the way up and through 8th grade. We believe that our students’ first educational experience should be their best, and that other great school experiences in later years will add to the solid foundation built at P.S./I.S. 270Q!

We sincerely believe that strong family-community ties are critical to the success of our students. Therefore, we work collaboratively with our families to create a secure environment and positive learning experiences for each of our students. In order to promote this partnership, we engage in open communication and welcome our families to be a part of their child’s educational journey. Establishing and cultivating these relationships start anew each year, with every new grade our students enter.
